How long have you been autocrossing? Since 1972 at the University of South Florida.
Current car you’re campaigning: 2017 Mazda Miata in AST trim.
Who got you started? My boyfriend at the time, now husband, Howard (yeah eventually we decided that we were a good match) took me to an Autocross at our college, USF. He talked me into timing all day for the guys, aka the drivers. A lady friend and I realized we didn’t seem to be having as much fun as the boys so, at the lunch break, we decided we were going to drive, and wow did their eyes bug out.
What kept you around? It was love at first turn. I really enjoyed driving and the people were pretty awesome as well, so I decided to stick around.
What else have you done with your region/club? We moved to Colorado when Howard took a job with SCCA and there I was Chief of a Driver School and found myself in timing and scoring, registration, helping with banquets, and just ... helping.
From there we moved to Kansas at the same time as the SCCA. There, I was on the Board of Directors for the Kansas Region for several years and then became their Regional Executive VP and eventually their Regional Executive for two years. After retiring, I was the first National Coordinator for the SCCA Foundation Tire Rack Street survival program where I ran the Kansas Region program for nine years.
After Kansas we moved back home to Central Florida where we are still trying to find a way to help. I am currently on the SCCA CFR Women on Track committee.

Who got you started? Me.
I got started when I bought my "college graduation present", a '79 Mazda Rx-7, and went to a driving school sponsored by the Boeing Recreation Dept. I went to work for Boeing right out of college and that’s how I learned about the school. The school was basically an autocross class. The instructors told us about the sport and invited us to their next "real" event. So, I went. I'd heard the car could be a little squirrelly and I wanted to try to learn how to handle that.
What kept you around? It was fun, and I met my future husband, Ron, at that first event – he was a serious autocrosser – and many of our subsequent dates were autocross events. He was a lot faster than I was, and I wanted to figure out why and close the gap.
What else have you done with your region/club? Ron and I have been involved administratively with SCCA at pretty much all levels (Regional, Divisional, and National), and also with local clubs in the Puget Sound area, and a local sports car council. I’ve been told I’m also a pretty wicked course designer. I’ve designed courses for both local and national competitions.
How long have you been autocrossing? Since 2004?
Current car you’re campaigning: 2017 Civic Type R (Knight) in D Street
Who got you started? A girl I knew from TampaRacing.com who competed in her Subaru STI.
What kept you around? The addiction of throwing my car "JC" a 91 Honda Civic Std around cones, learning what those cones meant (how to read them), and going faster. My best friend and I spent a lot of time developing him (JC) into an autocross car. After my first event, I went to a lot of events by myself. I love being with my cars and if nothing else, I was there for that. I soon learned I was also there for the people. It is an amazing group of people.
What else have you done with your region/club? I am currently going into my 5th year as the Red Hills Region Secretary. I was a 3-term Governor for the Central Florida Region (CFR), wrote a series of articles titled "Women in Garages" published in SportCar managzine, contributed articles to the CFR Checker, co-chaired the Daytona Showcase for two years, am part of Team Solo for our local CFR region, and I recently completed my first course design for a local Red Hills event.
How long have you been autocrossing? My very first autocross was with CFR SCCA at Brooksville in August 2006, but I started autocrossing regularly in 2011 after moving to the DC area.
Current car you’re campaigning: Oscar, a 1999 Mazda Miata in CSP
Who got you started? My then boyfriend, now husband and CFR SCCA Solo Chair, Nick.
What kept you around? The friendships and community I’ve gained over the years. I can travel to any SCCA autocross in the country and see a familiar face.
What else have you done with your region/club? I’ve been involved in the organization side of autocross for just about as long as I have been competing. In the DC area I was part of both the Capital Driving Club and Autocrossers Inc. committees. Since moving back to Florida in 2015 I have been involved in running CFR’s autocross program in many different capacities.

Current car you’re campaigning: 2020 Corolla E210 Hatchback in STS
Who got you started? My Uncle Matt!
What kept you around? The people, improvement in my driving experience, and good fun!
What else have you done with your region/club? I drive in Track Night In America, Solo Nationals, and Time Trials (sprints).
How long have you been autocrossing? I’m new to autocross, having attended my first event in Dec. 2024.
Current car you’re campaigning: Toyota GR86 Premium (@MoonlightGR86)
Who got you started? Growing up, I loved car shows and attended drag racing events, which sparked my appreciation for cars and racing. Later, friends who tracked their cars introduced me to the idea of pushing limits in a controlled environment. The challenge of being a fast driver—not just having a fast car—drew me in, and autocross felt like the perfect way to learn and compete safely.
What kept you around? The people in the autocross community, the challenge of constantly improving my times, and the thrill of competing while learning make it an incredible hobby.
What else have you done with your region/club? While I’m still new to autocross and currently looking to join clubs and regions, I’ve been immersing myself in the community by attending events, connecting with other enthusiasts, and gaining insights from more experienced drivers. I’m excited to contribute more actively as I continue to grow in the sport.
