CFR SCCA Presents

May 4-5th 2019 – 9am – 4pm Daily

Daytona International Speedway

A few words from the event staff

Welcome to the CFR SCCA 2019 Showcase here at the proclaimed World Center of Racing, Daytona International Speedway (DIS). The Central Florida Region and DIS are honored to have you as our guests. If you were here last year or the year before, we welcome you back and for those joining us for the first time welcome to the club that is no secret.

We celebrate our love of cars in so many ways. Posters on our bedroom walls to the matchbox toy cars that litter our room as kids and to our desks as we grow up. We remember our first experience seeing our obsession for the first time either in parking lots or at the track. From grassroots to pro races, we’re all in for the love of cars.

Now it’s your turn. The Central Florida Region Sports car Club of America (SCCA) has your way in. We can help bring your dream of being part of cars and racing to life. Whether it’s marshaling a corner or being behind the wheel, we have something for you.

Thank you for joining us for the 2019 Showcase Weekend. We hope that you will partake in the many different things we have to offer. Start by heading in to the Fan Zone and taking a Walking Tour with us. Let us show you the garages and the different stations of how a club race happens. Let us introduce you to our staff and let you know how you can become a part of a club that not only leads to a lifetime of memories but also friendships. SCCA Club Racing is how you can work your way up to volunteering at a Pro Race like the Rolex 24 that is held right here at Daytona International Speedway. The best way to start is to start right here, right now so just ask how!

While you are in the Fan Zone sign up to take a ride-a-long experience in one of two events: Track Events, or Autocross.  Our Track Event drivers will take you as a passenger out on the Rolex 24 Hour course, and our Autocross drivers will race thru the cones. We’ll also have a special exhibit of Rallycross cars at the Fan Zone. And if “you” want to get behind the wheel we’ll tell you how so that you can make your next event with us.

Excited? Ramped up? Good! Now, let’s go play with cars!

Thank you for being here with us today!

A Marshals Eye View

CFR SCCA is offering the opportunity for you to go around the wall and see what it is like to be on a corner with a Corner Marshal (Flagger) during an actual CFR SCCA race. Registration for this opportunity is in the Fan Zone at the Walking Tour Tent. There you will complete a Minor Waiver form (Free). Once the membership form is complete you will receive a second wristband, then a SCCA Official will take you out to a live corner during a qualifier or race, introduce you to that Corner Marshal’s staff who will show you the ropes. You never know you may even get the opportunity to flag a race car.

This opportunity requires long pants, close toed shoes and the ability to stand for an extended period of time.

The Back Lot Tour

Join us for a walk around the track to find out what goes on behind the scenes to make an SCCA Club Race happen. From start to finish we do it all. Registration, car tech, timing and scoring, grid, impound, corner marshal, pit marshal, food service, and so much more.

We’ll start out in the Fan Zone and go through the garages where you can see grassroots racers prepare their cars for their next qualifier or race, then go over to a corner station where you can watch our corner marshal’s in action, we’ll then take you over to grid where our Grid Bunny’s get drivers ready to go out on track and then finish the loop back in the Fan Zone.

The best part is that if you want to find out more we’ll make it happen. Our SCCA members are family and we welcome you to talk to us to find out what it is we do and how you can join in on the fun.

Comfortable walking shoes advised

Parts of this tour may require long pants & close toed shoes.

In the Hot Seat

Join the drivers of CFR SCCA Autocross and Track Events (formerly PDX) as they take you thru the cones on an autocross course and up on the high banks of the Daytona Speedway. Registration for a Ride-a-Long event is available in the Fan Zone. A single Weekend Membership (Free) is required. After you have completed the membership form you will receive a second wristband that will allow you to participate in each of the events.

An SCCA Ambassador located in each area will guide you to your ride-a-long, introduce you to the driver, help you in the car and answer any questions you may have.

Passengers must be able to wear a helmet and be wearing closed toe shoes. Helmets will be provided at the event.

Ride-a-Long opportunities are not guaranteed. No hand-held recording devices are allowed in the cars. Drivers will have recording capabilities and be able to share your event with you.
