This from Mitch Bishop (son):

As all of you know by now, Peg passed away early yesterday morning from complications related to the heart attacks. She was 87 years old and had one heck of a great life — in many dimensions, not the least of which was being able to spend 66 years married to the man of her dreams. Peg and John were the heart and soul of something very special in the sports car racing world in the 70’s and 80’s. They built a wildly successful family business that they were deeply passionate about and made everyone involved feel part of that extended family. When that chapter of their lives was done, they developed incredible friendships with the folks on the Leeward Air Ranch; friendships that they both cherished always.

My dad and I are discussing how and when to best remember Peg in the form of a celebration. We’ll figure something out in the next week or so and then let everyone know.

In the meantime, thank you for all the cards and notes of support; they are very much appreciated. If people want to send cards to my dad, we’re collecting them here at my home address:

Many of you have been asking where to send flowers. In lieu of flowers, we would ask that you instead please consider a donation to the non-profit International Motor Racing Research Center (IMRRC) in Watkins Glen, NY. The Center and Watkins Glen hold a very special place in my family’s history and hearts. It was started by the Argetsinger family 15 years ago as a place that collects, archives and preserves all things related to motor sports history. Tax-deductible donations can be made by check payable to “IMRRC” and mailed to:

Please feel free to forward or post the information in this email to those that might be asking.

Thank you,

Mitch Bishop
