Update from the CFR-SCCA Points Keeper
There seems to have been a rash of Central Florida Region (83) Competitors who have been listed as Florida Region (11) on Race Results. This results in no Central Florida Region points being awarded to these competitors.
Competitors are responsible for ensuring they are properly registered for each event. When you register on DLB for a CFR event, be sure to double check the Region of Record on your registration and make sure you select CFR every time you register for a CFR event through DLB. In addition to this, you can obtain the results at the event and double check that they are correct. It is much easier to ‘fix’ errors in the results at the track, during the event, than after the fact. Once the results are ‘Official’, they are much harder to revise.
And finally, as a reminder … CFR has a policy that allows competitors to dispute or question the points awarded for a given event. Any dispute or question should be submitted to the CFR Points Keeper within three (3) weeks of the date the points are published on CFR’s website.
If you are not a CFR Member and want to receive points at our events then you should apply for dual membership ($25). Dual Membership Application
The Central Florida Region racing season starts each year with the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving weekend and runs thru the following calendar year, ending with the October event, generally held about the 3rd weekend in October at Sebring.
Beginning with the 2014 Championship Season, points are awarded to all CFR drivers finishing in the top 20 positions in all regional and SARRC races. (Prior to the 2014 season, points were awarded to the top 9 drivers 12,9,7,6,5,4,3,2,1). The exceptions are Majors, SECS, and Enduros, where no regional points are awarded. To be eligible, a competitor must be a member or dual member of CFR at the time of the particular event. Points are awarded for every race during a weekend. SECS and SARRC point standings can be found at www.sedivracing.org and Majors Conference and Nationwide point standings can be found at www.scca.com.
Dual members registering for a CFR event shall register as a CFR member in the region space of the event registration to be eligible for CFR regional points. Regional points are only awarded to those registered as CFR members. CFR’s region number is 83. For non-CFR members, submit a completed Dual Membership Application to become a dual region member.
The CFR regional points structure is identical to that of the Majors structure.

The points will be calculated and updated as soon after an event as time allows once the pointskeeper has received the completed official results from the timing chief.
Please be sure to review the points after they have been published following any CFR event in which you were a competitor. If you notice any discrepancies, please bring them to the attention of CFR’s Points Keeper, Lyn Hodges Watts. You may reach her at Lwatts326@gmail.com. Be sure to include your name, car number and class, along with a description of the issue. Lyn will research the issue and provide you with a response. Any revisions to the points will be included the next time that the points are published. Points are published following each event, allowing sufficient time for Lyn to update the points and provide this updated information to CFR’s Webmaster and the published of The Checker.
The deadline for protesting the CFR Championship points for an event is three weeks after the points have been published for each race on CFR’s website.
